Some pics and history...

Here are some pictures that I took a couple of months back, at my friend Kenny Van Blargen's funeral. Kenny was a huge part of the Central California Sprint Car and Dirt Track racing history. His stories were so great, and the stories told about him by others were even better (Kenny always talked his stories down). Kenny came from a time where you just went for it, and if someone told you that you couldn't do it, for sure you would try. Kenny broke his neck just over a year ago at the age of 82 in a fluke flip over in Las Vegas. Though paralyzed from the chest down, he fought back, and made it back home. His sights were set on the future, and he was looking forward to being a docent at the Paso Warbirds Race Car Museum, where his car will be on display. His car was restored by the Woodland family, lettered by me, and Kenny got to see it finished two days before he passed. From what I hear he was very happy. The pictures, the stories, the life well lived, although Kenny will be missed, he has left a major impact.
